We recommend that you onboard from your mobile for the best experience. The quality of mobile device cameras is superior for capturing ID and selfie images.


We support onboarding using the following browsers and Operating Systems:  

  • iOS - Chrome, Safari and Brave

  • OSX - Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Brave

  • Windows - Chrome

  • Linux - Chrome


This very detailed guide is provided to help you during the onboarding process.  Although this may seem like a lot of steps the whole process is normally completed in less than a couple of minutes.


  1. From your the web browser on your device go to clearing.erisx.com/signup

  2. Enter your email address



  1. Enter a password of your choosing.  Note the minimum requirements.


  1. Click Continue

  2. You will see a message indicating that we just sent an email to the address you just entered in the step above.

    • Leave this browser window/tab open and go to your email application or another browser tab to check your email.

    • If you do not see an email after a minute, please check your spam folder.



  1. Once you have clicked on the verify link in the email you received you see a confirmation message.  You can close this new tab.

  2. Click “Back to Login” on the original browser tab.



  1. Enter the email address and password you used in the original steps above.

  2. You will see a splash screen where you can click “Get Started”.

  3. We are required to collect some information to open your account.  Please fill in the required ‘*’ fields  and click continue.



  1. After clicking continue you will be able to review the information you entered.  You have the option to click at the top of the form if you need to change anything.

  2. Options Referral Code - From time to time ErisX may run certain promotions which utilize a referral code during sign up.


If a friend has given you a referral code you can enter it at this stage.

After entering your referral code and clicking Apply your code will be verified.



  1. Once you have agreed to ErisX terms and conditions by checking the box you will be able to click Submit.



  1. You will now be asked to provide images of your ID and take a selfie.  This is required to satisfy our obligations to perform Know Your Customer (KYC) checks and Anti Money Laundering (AML) regulations. (As noted, a mobile device camera is preferred.)


  1. First you may need to allow permission for your laptop or mobile device to access the onboard camera. Please click allow.  If you click Block you will need to adjust your browser settings before you will be able to proceed.



  1. Please read the Selfie tips displayed to ensure that the images you capture can be used.  Following these guidelines will make your application easier to process.


  1. Once your Selfie has been taken you will see a preview.  If the image is clear and your face visible without obstruction, click Upload and Continue.  You can choose to try again if you’re not happy with the picture.


  1. You will now be asked to upload an image of a Government issued ID. Start by selecting the type of ID you wish to use. 


Please note that selecting Passport will only take one image but you will need to provide proof of address using a recent utility bill.



  1. For the next few steps your experience will differ depending on if you are on mobile or desktop.

    • On a Mobile device 

      1. Clicking the Upload Front of ID button may present you with a screen that automatically captures the image of your ID documents.

        1. Lay your ID one a solid color background and hold your mobile over the device.

        2. You will see some prompts which may ask you to Align or Move Closer so that the device can auto capture the image

                       

Once your mobile is in a good position you will see a countdown.  Try to hold still while the image is auto captured.



  • On Desktop you will need to upload images of your ID documents.

    1. If you started on a desktop and wish to complete the remaining steps via your mobile, go to clearing.erisx.com, sign in using your email address and password and you will be able to pick up where you left off.

    2. You will be asked to upload an image of the Front and Back of your ID Document.

      1. After clicking “Upload Front of ID” you will be presented with the file explorer on your device.  

      2. Navigate to the relevant file and click ok.


  1. Repeat this for the back of the ID Document



  • Once your images have been captured or uploaded the screen will indicate you have completed this step.



  • It is possible that during the capture your images were not quite clear enough to be read.  Please try again to upload a new clear copy of your ID before clicking Continue Anyway.


  1. Optional - Proof of Address

If the address on your ID documents is not your current residential address or you chose  Passport in the steps above you will need to provide proof of address.


Click the ‘No’ option and click upload an approved proof of address document.



When ready click the Submit Image button.



  1. As a regulated entity ErisX is required to ask a number of questions before an account is open.




  • Some questions may ask for further information to help move the account though the approval process



  • After you have answered all questions click Submit and Continue



Only a few very easy steps left...


  1. Check the boxes to acknowledge and agree to the required Disclosures and Agreements.



  1. Select and answer some security questions.

These will be used to verify your identity when you call our support team.



  1. Lastly, you will be required to enter a “funding password”. A funding password is different then the password used to login to the ErisX account.


This password will be used to perform various actions that we believe require additional security.



Your account will now be sent to our Onboarding team for approval.  


While normally processed immediately, it is possible for this final approval step to take longer when we are processing a large volume of applications. We aim to turn approvals around as quickly as possible.



Our Onboarding Team reviews account applications between Monday and Friday 7am to 7pm Central Time.  


Once approved, you will receive an email letting you know your account is ready to be used. 


Follow the instructions in the email to fund your account.
