The Quick Trade widget is located in your ErisX Member Portal (EMP). It is designed to make buying and selling digital assets at the best available prices at the time of order entry, as easy as possible. In order to perform a trade, follow these steps:
Select the account you would like to place the trade into (if you have access to more than one). You can do this by clicking on your Account Selector Dropdown located at the top of the screen and choosing the appropriate account.
Once the account is selected, the Quick Trade widget will be enabled: your Account Number and Quick Trade will be highlighted in bright green.
Choose to enter a buy or sell order by clicking on the BUY or SELL tab at the top of the Quick Trade widget.
Select the asset you want to buy or sell by clicking on the Asset dropdown and clicking the desired asset from the list.
For Buy orders: input the quantity of the asset that you intend to buy and the currency you will be trading for the asset. After selecting the currency from the Amount dropdown, input the amount of that currency you want to trade for the Asset in the Amount box. For example, if you want to buy $1,000 USD worth of BTC:
Choose BTC as the asset from the Asset dropdown
Choose USD as the currency from the Amount dropdown
Enter 1000 in the Amount box.
Do not use commas or symbols in the amount box; e.g. if you want to buy $1,000 worth, type 1000.
For Sell orders: input the quantity of that asset that you are looking to sell.
Note: Input the Amount field as a number with no commas.
Once the Asset and Amount fields are filled, the Preview Buy button will be enabled. Click on it and a new window will pop-up with a summary of the details of the order that will be submitted after you confirm. Please take a moment to review the details and make sure that everything is correct.
After making sure everything looks good, click on Buy Now (or Sell Now) and an order will be submitted to the ErisX Exchange. Once your order is processed a window will pop-up showing the summary details of your order execution. You can see a more detailed view of your fills by going to the Trades page under your account in the left hand side menu.
PLEASE NOTE: It is possible that your order may receive a partial fill leaving a residual, unfilled quantity. This may happen, for example, if a volatile market moves while you are in the process of submitting your order and one of the risk control mechanisms designed to prevent orders from trading at unexpected prices is triggered. In this case you may choose to submit another order provided you have sufficient funds available.
